Chawton Park Road, Alton, Hampshire GU34 1RF, United Kingdom.
Alton Skatepark, also known as Jubilee Skatepark, is a modern facility located on Chawton Park Road in Alton, Hampshire. It was completed in April 2020 by Maverick Skateparks, a company well-known for its expertise in designing and building skateparks across the UK. The project, which aimed to provide a high-quality facility for local skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users, was a major upgrade from the town's previous skatepark.
The design of the park features a variety of obstacles, including a mini ramp, hubbas, ledges, banks, quarter pipes, and a London Gap, offering something for users of all skill levels. One of the standout features of the park is its smooth flow and the speed of the surface, making it popular with skaters of all ages. The park's concrete construction ensures durability and low maintenance, while its design maximizes the space available for a range of tricks and skating styles.
The project received significant financial support, including a £96,500 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, alongside contributions from local councils and fundraising efforts from the community. The involvement of Maverick, both in terms of design and project management, helped ensure the park was completed on time and to a high standard, garnering positive feedback from users and local authorities alike.
Alton Skatepark has quickly become a focal point for the local skateboarding community, providing a free, accessible space for outdoor activity that is used daily by skaters from across the region.
