915 W Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina 28512, United States of America
The Atlantic Beach Skatepark in North Carolina, part of the Atlantic Beach Town Park, is a popular outdoor skate destination situated near the coastline at 915 W Fort Macon Rd. Opened in 2017, the skatepark is free for public use and features a variety of elements catering to both skateboarders and BMX riders. The design, by Pillar Design Studios, includes street-style features like ledges, rails, and stair sets, along with transition elements such as ramps and a pool-style bowl, making it suitable for skaters of various skill levels. Its picturesque beachside location and accessible amenities have made it a favorite spot for local and visiting skaters alike.
The skatepark is one component of the Atlantic Beach Town Park, which also includes a miniature golf course, a splash pad, a basketball half-court, picnic shelters, and public restrooms, creating a comprehensive recreational environment. Funding for the park and skatepark was supported by local municipal efforts and contributions from community events, like the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, which donated $65,000 specifically for the skatepark project. This financial support reflects the community's commitment to expanding recreational facilities for residents and tourists.
The Atlantic Beach Skatepark hosts several events, including skate clinics and local competitions, fostering a vibrant community for both amateur and experienced riders. With its coastal scenery and extensive skate facilities, Atlantic Beach Skatepark is a key attraction along North Carolina's Crystal Coast, blending skate culture with a family-friendly park setting.
