Bato Yard Skatepark, located in Bateau Bay, New South Wales, is one of Australia's largest and most impressive skateparks, designed and built by Convic, a renowned skatepark design firm. Opened in August 2016, the park covers approximately 2,800 square meters and includes both transition and street-style elements. The skatepark is equipped with a competition-standard 12-foot deep bowl, which is one of the deepest in the country, and a smaller flow bowl to accommodate skaters of all levels.
The park was developed with input from the local community through workshops, ensuring it catered to the needs of skaters, BMX riders, scooter users, and other action sports enthusiasts. Central Coast Council spearheaded the funding and construction as part of a broader initiative to provide top-tier recreational facilities for the region. Additional features include a parkour section, basketball courts, and shaded social areas. The park also hosts competitions and has lighting for use until 10 p.m., making it a central hub for the community.
