The Beenleigh Skatepark, located at Doug Larsen Park in Beenleigh, Queensland, is one of Australia’s most iconic and historic skate and BMX parks. Originally built in the 1980s, the park has undergone several major upgrades, including a significant $3.1 million revamp in 2019. This upgrade transformed the facility into a world-class venue suitable for hosting national and international events, including those leading up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The design and reconstruction were influenced by professional BMX rider and Olympic champion Logan Martin, ensuring that the park caters to advanced riders while still providing areas for beginners. The park features massive ramps, a mini/spine ramp, competition-sized vert ramps, and dirt tracks, making it a destination for BMX, scooter, and skateboard enthusiasts alike.
The park regularly hosts events such as Heavy Metal Heroes competitions and training sessions for both recreational and professional riders. It also boasts excellent amenities, including lighting for nighttime use, playgrounds, picnic areas, and toilet facilities, making it a great location for families and extreme sports lovers.
