1504 23rd Street NW 1334, Bemidji, Minnesota 56601, United States of America.
The Bemidji Skatepark, located in Bemidji, Minnesota, officially opened in 2011 and was built by SpohnRanch skateparks. The park was the result of a collaborative effort between the local community, skateboarders, and the City of Bemidji. It was designed to cater to skateboarding and inline skating, and bicycles and other wheeled devices are not permitted. The skatepark was built to provide a safe and professional space for skaters of all ages and skill levels.
The project received significant financial support, including a crucial $100,000 grant from the George W. Neilson Foundation in 2008. This funding was a major step toward the park's construction, adding to the total funds raised, which included contributions from local businesses, community fundraising, and other grants. The total cost of the park was estimated at around $400,000, and by 2010, the city had secured most of the funds required to proceed with construction.
The skatepark's design focuses on smooth concrete surfaces with a variety of elements, making it appealing to both novice and advanced skaters. Though primarily designed for skateboarding and inline skating, the park emphasizes the importance of safety, recommending the use of protective gear at all times.
Over the years, the Bemidji Skatepark has become a popular hub for the local skating community, serving as a much-needed recreational space. It continues to foster a supportive environment for youth and encourages active, outdoor lifestyles.
