Bethune Point Skatepark in Daytona Beach, Florida, opened in 2009 and was designed and built by Spohn Ranch Skateparks in collaboration with local firms, including Breaking Ground Contracting. The skatepark covers 16,000 square feet and has become a popular destination for skaters in Florida due to its innovative features and scenic location overlooking the Halifax River.
The park is designed for all skill levels, offering a variety of skate features such as a large kidney-shaped bowl with pool coping and blue tile, reminiscent of a classic backyard pool—a tribute to the origins of bowl skating in California during the 1970s. It also includes a unique "broken pyramid" skateable sculpture, quarter pipes, hubbas, handrails, kickers, and ledges, providing plenty of options for street and transition skaters.
Bethune Point Skatepark was part of Daytona Beach's efforts to revitalize recreational facilities, costing around $800,000 to build. Its integration into the broader Bethune Point Park, which includes baseball fields, picnic areas, and access to fishing, adds to the community value of the park.
The park's coastal setting and well-designed features have made it one of the most popular skateparks in Florida, contributing to Daytona Beach's growing reputation as a skateboarding destination.
