The Bro Bowl is a historic skatepark located in Tampa, Florida. Opened in 1979, it holds the distinction of being Florida's first public skatepark and one of the few remaining from the 1970s era. In 2013, it became the first skatepark to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, recognized as the Perry Harvey Sr. Park Skateboard Bowl.
Originally constructed as a free, public facility during a time when most skateparks were private ventures, the Bro Bowl featured a bank-style design reminiscent of early skateparks from 1976-1977. Its unique layout and cultural significance made it a landmark in the skateboarding community.
In 2016, as part of the redevelopment of Perry Harvey Sr. Park, the original Bro Bowl was demolished. However, to preserve its legacy, a new skatepark—often referred to as "Bro Bowl 2.0"—was constructed within the same park. This modern facility replicates many features of the original design while incorporating contemporary elements such as ramps, stairs, and ledges to accommodate a wider range of skateboarding styles.
Today, the Bro Bowl continues to serve as a vibrant hub for skaters of all ages and skill levels, honoring its rich history while providing modern amenities. The park is open until 10:00 PM and is located at 1200 N Orange Ave, Tampa, FL 33602.
