ABOUT SKATEPARK

Campus Pool Skatepark

Campus Pool Skatepark in Bristol is an indoor concrete skatepark built in a converted swimming pool. The project, spearheaded by Andre Seidel and Tim Nokes, officially opened in July 2015 after extensive community consultation. The pool had been disused since 2012, and a combination of local petitions and support from the council allowed the space to be repurposed. The transformation was made possible with an £80,000 loan from Big Issue Invest, which helped convert the old pool into a skatepark. Subsequent funding, including a £75,000 grant from Sport England, allowed the addition of a community café, drastically improving the business viability of the park.

The skatepark, designed by Canvas Spaces, features a mix of street and transition elements, including a vert corner, hubbas, rails, and banks. It hosts a variety of sessions catering to different age groups and abilities, and has become a hub for skateboarding culture in Bristol.
