Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The Chemainus Skatepark, located at 2970 Severne Street (behind Chemainus Secondary School) in Chemainus, British Columbia, is a 7,500-square-foot facility that serves as a modern community hub for the Cowichan Valley. This project was designed and built by New Line Skateparks, officially opening in March 2015. After nearly 18 years of advocacy from local youth and the RCMP, the park was delivered two months ahead of schedule and under its $350,000 budget.
The design is a specialized "neighborhood plaza-flow" park, optimized to pack high-performance variety into a compact footprint. It features a unique blend of street-style terrain—such as railings, stairs, and ledges—integrated with creative flowing transition lines. The transition zone includes an organic-shaped bowl with various pockets and hips, while the plaza section is equipped with banks, flat rails, and manual pads. The layout is engineered for "multi-ability" use, providing enough technical challenge for seasoned riders while remaining approachable for beginners on skateboards, scooters, and BMX bikes.
Constructed with high-strength, smooth-troweled concrete, the facility was built by New Line’s specialized internal crews. The park’s architecture emphasizes high-visibility and safety, being situated on the site of the former Chemainus Elementary School. The location offers stunning views of the surrounding coastal environment and is part of a larger planned redevelopment that includes multi-generational leisure amenities. The park features integrated benches and grassy areas for spectators and is within walking distance of the central amenities of "The Little Town That Did."
Today, the Chemainus Skatepark is celebrated as a major victory for local youth advocacy, recognized for its exceptional flow and its role in providing a safe, sanctioned space for action sports in the heart of the community.
