2212 Modularity Drive, Fort Bragg, North Carolina 28310, United States of America.
Cleland Skatepark, located on the Fort Bragg military base in North Carolina, was constructed in 2012 by Spohn Ranch Skateparks. This 12,000-square-foot skatepark was specifically built for military personnel and their families, providing a recreational space to help alleviate the stresses of military life. The park was designed to offer a balance between street and transition elements, catering to a wide range of skaters and BMX riders. Notable features include a large kidney-shaped bowl with varying depths, a five-stair setup with a handrail, banks, ledges, and a London Gap, all aimed at both beginners and experienced skaters.
The construction process was unique due to the involvement of the Department of Defense, which added additional layers of safety and inspection standards. Spohn Ranch handled these challenges efficiently, producing a park that became a vital recreational space for the Fort Bragg community.
The skatepark's funding came from military allocations aimed at improving the quality of life for service members, and since its completion, it has been free to use for the military and civilian communities. As of now, there have been no significant renovations reported since its construction. However, its design and features have been praised for fostering creativity and offering a space that military families can enjoy daily.
Cleland Skatepark continues to serve as a hub for skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter enthusiasts, blending high-quality design with the specific needs of a military base.
