The Cloverdale Youth Park, located at the Surrey Fairgrounds in Cloverdale, British Columbia, is a massive 18,000-square-foot facility that serves as a historic anchor for the region's action sports culture. This park was designed by New Line Skateparks and built by New Line Skateparks, opening in 2014 to replace the legendary "Cloverdale Bowl." The project was a high-priority development for the City of Surrey, aimed at creating a multi-use youth hub that could accommodate world-class competitions while remaining accessible to local beginners.
The design is a "hybrid powerhouse," featuring one of the most comprehensive bowl complexes in the Pacific Northwest. It includes a deep, professional-grade pool-style bowl with authentic pool coping and a massive "clover" flow bowl with multiple hips and extensions. These transition elements are complemented by a sprawling street plaza that features a "real-world" architectural aesthetic. The plaza is outfitted with granite-capped hubba ledges, flat rails, a variety of stair sets, and unique "slappy" curbs, all arranged to allow for long, continuous lines that span the length of the park.
A standout feature of the Cloverdale Youth Park is its focus on the "all-wheel" experience, with specific considerations for BMX riders and scooter users alongside skateboarders. The facility also includes a dedicated beginner zone, providing a safe space for new riders to develop their skills away from the high-speed traffic of the main bowls. The site is equipped with professional-grade lighting for evening sessions, integrated spectator seating, and is situated adjacent to a world-class outdoor basketball court and a dedicated youth center. Today, Cloverdale remains a "must-visit" destination on the global skatepark map, frequently hosting major events like the Cloverdale World Freestyle Roundup.
