Con Smith Skatepark in Drumalee, Cavan, was officially opened in July 2016. It was built by Canvas Spaces, a well-known skatepark design company, at a cost of €113,000. The funding for the project was a joint effort, with €80,000 provided by the Department of Transport, Tourism, and Sports under their Capital Grant Scheme, and the remaining €45,000 supplied by the local authority.
The skatepark features a variety of concrete structures such as spines, hubbas, quarter pipes, and a mini ramp, catering to skateboarders and BMX riders of all abilities. The park was designed to encourage active lifestyles and to be a valuable recreational space for the local community, contributing to the broader goal of improving public health through the "Healthy Ireland" initiative.
