The Converse Skateplaza, also known as the Converse Skate Plaza Norte, is a landmark spot in the Buenos Aires skateboarding scene. Located in the Núñez neighborhood (specifically at the intersection of Juramento and Av. Presidente Figueroa Alcorta), it was the first skatepark in Argentina designed by professional skaters who actively participated in the project's direction and construction oversight.
This 1,100-square-meter facility is celebrated for its premium polished concrete and authentic street-inspired layout. Unlike traditional parks that rely heavily on transition, this plaza was built to mimic a real urban environment, featuring a variety of technical obstacles such as flat bars, manual pads, ledges, and gap jumps. The design focuses on "flow," allowing riders to link together long, creative lines across its smooth, expansive surface.
Since its inauguration, the plaza has become a cultural cornerstone for the local skate community. It is open to the public and serves as a primary training ground for both rising talent and seasoned pros. Because it was part of a neighborhood revitalization initiative, the park remains a high-energy hub where the vibe is inclusive, frequently hosting "cash for tricks" events and local competitions that highlight the best of Argentine street skating.
