Cooper Park Sharon Street &, Olive Street, Brooklyn, New York 11211, United States of America.
Cooper Park Skatepark, located in Brooklyn, New York, was built in 2015 by SpohnRanch, a premier skatepark design and construction firm. This 10,000-square-foot skatepark is situated at Sharon Street and Olive Street, within Cooper Park. The park is primarily designed for street skating, with a focus on flow and connectivity between obstacles, which makes it a great spot for skaters of all levels.
The skatepark features a variety of elements, including quarter pipes, a London gap, hubbas, manual pads, ledges, flat rails, and banks. A standout design feature is the park’s integration of urban elements into its street plaza, creating a space that reflects the character of New York City’s streetscape. The layout encourages continuous movement, helping skaters build and maintain speed as they hit multiple obstacles.
The project was part of a broader city initiative to enhance recreational spaces, funded by a $2.8 million budget, which included upgrades to other areas of Cooper Park as well. The skatepark itself was designed to meet the growing demand for skate-friendly spaces in Brooklyn, providing a well-rounded environment that accommodates both street and transition skaters.
The park is open daily from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM, though it lacks dedicated skatepark lighting, relying on the general lighting within the park. It is free to use, and safety gear is recommended for skaters of all ages.
The Cooper Park Skatepark quickly became a favorite among local skaters, and it remains one of Brooklyn’s best street-style skateparks, known for its smooth concrete, well-placed obstacles, and the vibrant skate community that gathers there.
