The Dhunga Skate-aid Butwal Skatepark, located in Tilottama, Butwal, Nepal, is a significant project aimed at empowering local youth through skateboarding. This concrete skatepark features both a bowl and a street area, offering a variety of obstacles such as hubbas, roll-ins, quarter pipes, manual pads, handrails, gaps, flat rails, ledges, and banks.
Beyond providing a space for skateboarding, the park serves as a community center, fostering a positive environment where children and young people can develop self-confidence and resilience through skateboarding workshops. The initiative aims to empower the youth, helping them become strong individuals through self-determined activities.
The skatepark was officially opened on March 5, 2022, as a collaborative effort between the skate-aid foundation and the non-profit organization Yuwa for Change. The design and coordination were managed by Betonlandschaften, with the project led by Ralf Maier.
