Duck Lane Skatepark, located in Bournemouth, was designed and built by Maverick Industries and opened in 2015. The skatepark features a concrete combi-bowl and a snakerun, a design that recalls the classic skateparks from the late 1970s but with modern updates like metal coping and quarter-pipe transitions. The park is renowned for its flowing lines and unique features, including a deep bowl section reminiscent of older parks like the Performance Bowl at Rom Skatepark.
This skatepark was developed as part of a larger community project, supported by Bournemouth Council, and has quickly become a favorite among skaters and BMX riders. Its retro design makes it a rare and exciting space in the UK, where snakeruns are uncommon. The park is situated off Duck Lane and Holloway Avenue in West Howe, Bournemouth, and is free and open to the public year-round.
The project was a collaboration between local skaters, Maverick's design team, and the council, resulting in a park that serves the community well, providing a challenging but fun space for riders of all skill levels. The park’s construction and design were driven by a desire to offer a high-quality, long-lasting skate facility that pays homage to skateboarding’s roots while still catering to modern riders.
