Dudley Skatepark, located in Macomb, Illinois, was built in 2012 by SpohnRanch, a leading skatepark design and construction firm. This 6,500-square-foot concrete skatepark is designed to cater to skateboarders of all skill levels. It features a variety of street and transition elements, including two pyramids, a five-stair setup with a handrail, a flat bar, hubba ledges, a quarterpipe, and a manual pad. These features make it a versatile park for both beginners and advanced skaters.
The skatepark was funded through the efforts of the Macomb Park District and local community support. It was constructed to provide a modern and durable space for the local youth and skateboarding enthusiasts, replacing the previous wooden structures that were in constant need of repair. Since its construction, the park has become a central recreational hub for the community.
In terms of renovations, the park has undergone upgrades over the years, including an $80,000 project announced to further enhance the facility. The renovation plans were developed with input from local skaters and were handled by LandTech Design, an Oswego-based firm, to ensure that the upgrades met the needs of the park's users.
