Dunstable Skatepark, located at Grove Park in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, was completed in March 2015. The park was designed and built by Maverick Industries, a well-known company specializing in skatepark construction. The skatepark was part of a larger initiative by the Dunstable Town Council, working alongside Central Bedfordshire Council to provide a high-quality recreational facility for local skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users.
The skatepark is made of concrete and includes a variety of features that cater to both street and transition skaters. Key elements of the park include a large bowl, quarter pipes, hubbas, ledges, handrails, and flat banks. These features are designed to accommodate skaters of different skill levels, providing a versatile space for a range of tricks and styles.
The funding for the skatepark came from local council budgets and community support. Dunstable Town Council was heavily involved in ensuring that the park met community expectations. The project was completed on time despite challenging weather conditions during the winter months.
Dunstable Skatepark replaced an earlier, smaller facility, providing a much-needed upgrade for the town's growing skateboarding community. Its design encourages fluidity and creativity, making it a popular spot for skaters in the region. The park continues to serve as a focal point for local youth and has been praised for its durability and thoughtful design, ensuring it will remain a key feature of Dunstable's recreational landscape for years to come.
