The Erie Community Street League Skatepark, located in Erie, Colorado, is a 25,000-square-foot concrete skatepark that opened in 2015. The park was designed through a collaboration between California Skateparks and SITE Design Group, both well-known for creating high-quality skateboarding facilities. The park was built with funding from the local community and significant contributions from Street League Skateboarding (SLS), which donated features from their 2011 tour to be incorporated into the park’s design.
The park is designed to cater to skateboarders of all levels, with a variety of street-style elements like ledges, rails, stair sets, and banks. Its design also includes smooth transitions to make it accessible for beginners while still offering challenges for more advanced skaters. One of the park’s most distinctive features is its blend of these SLS-donated elements with natural rock accents, reflecting the Colorado environment and setting the park apart from other skateparks in the area.
Construction took about a year from conception to completion, and it has since become a popular spot for local skaters, BMX riders, and inline skaters. The park is free to the public, open daily, and features lights for night skating.
The Erie Community Skatepark stands as a prime example of a successful collaboration between a local government, private donors, and major skateboarding organizations, offering a modern and engaging space for action sports enthusiasts.
