Polígono Ripagaina, 31600 Pamplona, Navarra, Spain
he Erripagaña Skatepark, located near Pamplona, Spain, is a relatively new addition to the skateboarding scene, inaugurated in early 2023. This skatepark was designed by local riders Arkaitz Armendáriz and Eneko Navarro, who tailored it specifically to meet the needs of the local community. Armendáriz, a BMX enthusiast and state-level champion, along with Navarro, focused on creating a space that would accommodate skaters of all ages and skill levels.
The skatepark was built with a strong emphasis on accessibility and progression. It includes three main modules that provide a mix of skateboarding obstacles, from beginner-friendly features to more advanced elements. A key aspect of the design was to ensure that younger skaters and beginners could easily navigate the space, while still offering challenges for more experienced riders. This inclusivity makes the Erripagaña Skatepark a versatile spot for different types of wheeled sports, including skateboarding and BMX.
The project was not just about replacing an existing structure (built by Zutskateparks), but about expanding and enhancing it. The original skate area was known for its technical challenges, which made it difficult for newcomers to practice. The recent updates include a more user-friendly section connected to the original layout, making it easier for skaters to develop their skills. The addition of a separate, beginner-focused zone was a direct response to feedback from the local community, showing a commitment to adapting the park to its users' needs.
