The Evergreen Center Skatepark, located in Colonia, New Jersey, opened in 2012 and spans 10,000 square feet. Designed and built by SpohnRanch, this skatepark was the second collaboration between SpohnRanch and Woodbridge Township. The park was conceived through community input sessions, where local skaters expressed their desire for a plaza-style design reminiscent of urban New York City streetscapes. To achieve this, the park features colored concrete, brick patterns, and a variety of street-style obstacles such as quarterpipes, stairs, handrails, hubba ledges, and a unique A-frame with a rail in the center.
The skatepark was funded through a combination of township resources and community efforts, reflecting a trend of civic engagement in skatepark projects. The park was built with durability and aesthetics in mind, and it quickly became a hub for skaters in the area due to its versatile design and user-friendly layout.
