Fergusson Park Skatepark, located in Rialto, California, is a 16,000-square-foot outdoor concrete skatepark that officially opened in 2011. Designed and built by SpohnRanch Skateparks, the project transformed an under-utilized roller hockey rink into a vibrant skateboarding destination. The park was developed in collaboration with RHA Landscape Architects and was largely driven by the advocacy of a local family, who worked tirelessly to bring a skatepark to the community.
The skatepark features a combination of both street and transition terrain, making it suitable for skaters of all levels. Key features include a large bowl with shallow and deep ends, various street elements like handrails, stair sets, hubbas, and flat bars, as well as unique obstacles such as a wave-shaped pole jam. The park's design focuses on merging modern urban architecture with traditional pool-style skating, giving skaters a diverse and exciting environment to practice and perform.
Fergusson Park Skatepark was funded as part of a broader improvement project for the park, which saw a $6 million investment that also included upgrades to other facilities like football fields. Since its opening, the skatepark has become a well-loved fixture in the local skateboarding scene, providing a versatile space for both recreational and competitive skating.
