FishHawk Ranch Skatepark, located in Lithia, Florida, opened in 2020 after an extensive renovation. The park, designed by SpohnRanch, spans 7,000 square feet and is part of a larger recreational complex in FishHawk Ranch. The skatepark includes a pump track, which was the first of its kind in Hillsborough County. This all-wheel track is designed for bikes, skateboards, and skates, allowing users to maintain momentum without pedaling, which makes it accessible for riders of various skill levels.
The skatepark itself features transitional elements like quarter pipes, a mini ramp with an extension, stairs, ledges, and a Euro gap, making it a great spot for both beginner and intermediate skaters. The project had a design budget of $72,000, and the overall construction cost reached $505,000. It was funded through a collaboration between Hillsborough County and FishHawk Community Development District (CDD), which also maintains the facility.
Before this upgrade, the park had an older setup, which was smaller and less versatile. The renovation aimed to modernize the space, adding the hybrid skatepark and pump track to meet the growing needs of the community. The park is open daily, free to the public, and has quickly become a popular destination for local residents of all ages.
