41st Division Drive, Fort Lewis, Washington 98433 United States of America.
Fort Lewis Skatepark, located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington, was designed and built by SpohnRanch in 2012. This 16,000-square-foot skatepark was developed to serve military personnel and their families, offering a recreational space to skate and BMX. The design process included input from local skaters, ensuring the park reflected the needs and desires of its users.
The skatepark features vibrant concrete elements and landscaping integrated with the design, alongside a system of overhead lights to facilitate night skating. One of its standout features is a sculptural, skateable representation of Mt. Rainier, adding both aesthetic value and functionality to the park. The skatepark includes a mix of street-style and transition features, such as bowls, hubbas, rails, and ledges.
The construction was part of a broader initiative to improve recreational facilities at JBLM, with funding sourced through military allocations aimed at enhancing quality of life for service members and their families. Since its opening, the skatepark has become a central feature of the base's recreational offerings, providing a high-quality environment for both novice and experienced skaters.
