ABOUT SKATEPARK

Frankfort skatepark

The Frankfort Skatepark in Frankfort, Michigan, was designed and built by Evergreen Skateparks and officially opened in 2015. This 6,000-square-foot outdoor concrete skatepark is located in Market Square Park. It features a large open bowl, smaller bowls, quarter pipes, and roll-ins, making it a great place for skaters to practice transition-style skating. However, street skaters might find fewer features suited to their style.

The park was part of a community initiative that started in 2013. Through local fundraising efforts, a private donor offered to match funds raised by the community, helping the project reach its $120,000 budget. Additionally, the City of Frankfort received a grant from the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians to support the construction. The skatepark is free to use and remains a popular spot for both local skaters and tourists visiting this lakeside town.
