Trucks and Fins is a huge present to the whole skate community - not just for the skating people, but also for shops, builders and schools. Super easy to use and can't believe how complete it is.

The Glendale Skatepark, located within the Glendale Science and Technology School grounds in Red Deer, Alberta, is a specialized 8,500-square-foot facility that exemplifies the "community-scale" skatepark model. This project was designed and built by New Line Skateparks in 2012, serving as a critical addition to Red Deer's recreational infrastructure. It was specifically developed to alleviate congestion at the city's larger regional parks while providing the north-end community with a high-quality, neighborhood-accessible space for skateboarding, BMX, and scootering.
The design of the Glendale park is focused on technical street precision and rhythmic flow. It features a "linear plaza" layout that makes excellent use of the site's rectangular footprint, allowing riders to link together multiple tricks in a single line. Key features include a variety of hubba ledges, flat rails, and manual pads, all situated around a central "pyramid" hip and a diverse stair set. At the perimeters, the park utilizes quarter pipes and banks to act as "return walls," enabling riders to maintain their momentum and loop back into the street features without stopping.
Constructed with high-strength concrete to withstand the heavy freeze-thaw cycles of Central Alberta, the park is known for its smooth finish and durable steel edging. Because of its location adjacent to a school and residential area, the design prioritizes clear sightlines and an open-concept layout to promote a safe, self-policing environment. The facility also includes integrated concrete seating for spectators and is surrounded by green space, making it a comfortable destination for local families. Today, the Glendale Skatepark is celebrated for its approachable scale and technical versatility, making it an ideal training ground for local riders to hone their skills.
