ABOUT SKATEPARK

Harbor Springs Skatepark

The Harbor Springs Skatepark in Michigan, officially named the Ted Swarthout Memorial Skatepark, was designed and built by Evergreen Skateparks. This project was initiated in memory of Ted Swarthout, a beloved local who dreamed of revitalizing the town’s old skatepark. The park offers a mix of features, including a small pool bowl, a flow area with moonscape elements, and a street track, all set in a picturesque location with views of Little Traverse Bay.

The skatepark was completed in 2021 after extensive fundraising efforts. The total cost was estimated at $350,000 to $400,000, with funds raised primarily through community efforts. The project replaced an outdated wooden skatepark that had become difficult and costly to maintain. The new concrete design is expected to drastically reduce maintenance costs while providing a safer, more modern facility for local and visiting skaters.
