Harrow Skatepark, also known as Harrow Solid Surf, is a historic skatepark located in Wealdstone, within the London Borough of Harrow, England. Opened on July 15, 1978, it stands as one of only two remaining 1970s shotcrete skateparks still operating in the United Kingdom.
Designed by Adrian Rolt and constructed by Skate Park Construction, Harrow Skatepark is renowned for its classic 1970s design, featuring smooth, flowing lines that seamlessly connect various elements. In recent years, the skatepark secured funding for revitalization, adding features such as a 5-foot wooden mini ramp and a 6-foot half-pipe with a spine.
Due to its age and unique design, Harrow Skatepark holds a special place in the UK's skateboarding history. It's often compared to iconic American skateparks like Marina del Rey in Los Angeles and Pipeline in Upland, California. The park has been a nurturing ground for numerous professional skaters and BMX riders, serving as a vibrant community hub for enthusiasts.
Situated adjacent to Byron Park and near Harrow Leisure Centre, the skatepark is easily accessible. It's within walking distance from Harrow & Wealdstone station, making it convenient for visitors traveling by public transport.
