104 Freemens Way, Haverfordwest SA61 1UG United Kingdom.
Haverfordwest Skatepark, located in Picton Playing Fields, opened in 2014 after several years of planning and community involvement. The skatepark was designed and built by Maverick Industries, a renowned company in the UK skatepark industry. The project was funded through a combination of local efforts and significant financial support from the Big Lottery Fund, which provided a grant of £437,312. This funding was crucial in turning the long-standing dream of a modern skatepark into reality.
The skatepark features an all-concrete design, with a variety of elements that cater to different skill levels. It includes two bowls, jump boxes, curved ledges, and a range of street-style obstacles such as hubbas, rails, and ledges. The layout was carefully designed to ensure smooth transitions and flow, allowing skaters, BMX riders, and scooter users to enjoy long lines without frequent pushing. These elements make the park suitable for both beginners and experienced riders, drawing users from all over the region.
The project took nearly six years to come to fruition, with strong backing from the Haverfordwest Skatepark Association, which played a vital role in securing the necessary funding and working alongside Maverick Industries to shape the park’s final design. Since its opening, the skatepark has been hailed as one of the top skate destinations in Wales, providing an engaging and inclusive space for the local community and visitors alike.
Haverfordwest Skatepark has become a cornerstone of the town's outdoor recreational offerings, reflecting the collaborative efforts of local skaters, the council, and community groups.
