Haywards Heath Skatepark, located in Victoria Park, was officially opened in March 2018. The park was designed and built by Maverick Industries, a well-known skatepark design firm. This modern facility, made of concrete, includes a variety of features designed for skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users of all skill levels.
The skatepark is divided into three main zones, allowing users to enjoy different riding experiences. At the entrance, there is a street area with a hipped bank and grind ledge. The central zone features a 6ft roll-in and a unique hipped box-jump leading to a quarter pipe. Towards the back of the park are two half pipes connected by a spine ramp. These zones are interconnected, creating a continuous flow around the park.
The project was funded by Mid Sussex District Council, and its development was guided by input from local skaters and riders to ensure the design met the community's needs. The council emphasized the importance of providing modern recreational spaces for young people, and this skatepark serves as an asset for the local community, promoting outdoor activity and engagement among youth.
Since its opening, the skatepark has been a popular destination for riders of all ages, providing a safe and enjoyable space for various wheeled sports.
