Highland Skatepark, located in Sheppard Park in Highland, Indiana, was built in 2018 by Spohn Ranch, a prominent skatepark design and construction firm. Covering 7,000 square feet, the park was designed to accommodate skateboarders of all levels, featuring a variety of obstacles including a large bowl with varying depths, pool coping, and a cradle. The street section of the park includes rails, stairs, ledges, and gaps, providing plenty of opportunities for technical tricks.
The funding for the skatepark was part of a broader initiative to enhance community recreation spaces, though exact figures are not widely reported. The project was well-received by local residents and skateboarders, offering a much-needed modern facility for the town. Since its opening, the park has drawn both local skaters and visitors from surrounding areas due to its smooth concrete surface and the challenging yet inclusive design of the obstacles.
