ABOUT SKATEPARK

Highvalley Skate World

Highvalley Skateworld, also known as Högdalens skatepark, is one of the largest skateparks in Northern Europe and a top destination for skateboarders, located in Högdalen, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. The skatepark was first conceptualized by the Stockholm Sub Surfers association in 1999, with a vision to create a premier skateboarding space that would cater to various styles and levels. Construction on the park began after extensive advocacy and was supported by a 30-million SEK (approx. 3 million EUR) investment from the Stockholm municipality, marking a significant public commitment to action sports infrastructure in Sweden.

The design and construction of Highvalley Skateworld were led by Pillar Design Studios and Artisan Skateparks, who built a versatile concrete facility that includes a mix of bowls, snake runs, freestyle areas, and slalom courses. The skatepark officially opened in stages around 2010 and continues to expand and improve. The park's layout accommodates skaters of all levels, with designated areas for beginners, advanced sections like the "Mega Ditch" for downhill and slalom events, and a specific children's area, creating an inclusive environment for all ages.

Highvalley Skateworld is known for hosting major events, including the annual Bowlstock festival, which combines skateboarding competitions with live music, food stalls, and a lively social atmosphere. The park is accessible year-round and supported by the local skateboarding community, which organizes events and maintains the facility. Additional plans for indoor spaces and further enhancements have been proposed, highlighting the skatepark's importance as a cultural and recreational asset in Stockholm.

This is the largest skatepark in Stockholm. With a system of bowls that are all connected, from the top where they are smaller all the way to the cradle and yet another bowl. It has a + 300 feet ditch a red freestyle area. Now used as a street course. A small kiosk/café & parking for around 60 cars. Take the subway from downtown and in 25 min you’re there.
