ABOUT SKATEPARK

Hope Davey Memorial skatepark

The Hope Davey Memorial Skatepark is the new concrete heart of Waterbury’s skate scene.

From 2010 to 2023, the town’s first skatepark stood on this spot — a small wooden structure that gave local skaters a place to roll. But after years of wear and weather, it had reached the end of its life and was removed in October 2023.

That’s when a dedicated crew of local skaters — the Waterbury Skatepark Coalition — stepped up. Their dream? A modern concrete park that could level up skateboarding in the region. After years of planning and fundraising, they found the perfect match between vision and budget: rebuilding right on the original Hope Davey site.

Construction kicked off on July 8, and the result is a brand-new, 6,000-square-foot concrete park — more than twice the size of the original.

Now officially open, the new Hope Davey Memorial Skatepark is ready to shred.
