The Richcraft Kanata Skatepark (RRCK), located in Ottawa, Ontario, is a sophisticated 10,000-square-foot facility designed and constructed by New Line Skateparks. The park is expertly divided into three main sections that cater to beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels, with each area flowing back toward a central open plaza. A standout architectural feature of this central space is a unique, octagon-shaped manual pad inspired by both skateboard hardware and the logo of the Ottawa Skateboard Community Association (OSCA).
The facility’s layout is highly integrated with the surrounding infrastructure, providing direct connections to adjacent walkways and a bus lay-by. Nestled against a preserved woodlot, the elevated deck of the bowl area offers additional street terrain, including a stair set, bank ramp, and flat ledges. The transition highlight is an enclosed multi-level bowl, which features a five-foot shallow end with an escalating pocket that drops into a challenging seven-foot-deep three-quarter bowl. This combination of technical street geometry and high-performance transition makes it a premier destination within the National Capital Region.
