The Janesville Skatepark, located in Bond Park, was completed in September 2015. The project was a collaborative effort involving SpohnRanch Skateparks and Ayres Associates, a local design firm. After over a decade of advocacy and fundraising by local community members Roger and Fern Streich, the skatepark was finally brought to life.
The skatepark is designed to cater to a variety of skill levels, offering a mix of street and transition elements. Its design features a unique above-grade layout due to the challenging bedrock sub-grade of the site. A colored concrete swirl is one of its standout aesthetic features, winding through the park and capitalizing on the natural elevation changes of the location.
Funding for the project came from a combination of public and private efforts, including local fundraising and municipal support. The project was completed on budget and on time, and since its opening, it has become a popular destination for skaters in the region.
