Kennesaw Skatepark, located within Swift-Cantrell Park in Kennesaw, Georgia, opened on November 23, 2013. It was designed by Street League Skateboarding (SLS) founder Rob Dyrdek in collaboration with SITE Design Group, and it was built by California Skateparks. The park is notable for being the only SLS-certified skate plaza east of Denver at the time of its opening.
The skatepark covers 40,000 square feet and features a variety of elements that cater to skaters of all skill levels. These include a large street plaza equipped with rails, ledges, kickers, hubbas, and gaps, as well as a 10-foot pool and an expansive flow bowl. The design allows for both technical street skating and bowl riding, making it versatile for different skateboarding styles.
The project was funded by the City of Kennesaw as part of its effort to enhance recreational facilities, and it remains free for public use. The park is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM and has lighting for evening skating. Safety regulations, such as mandatory helmets for skaters under 15, ensure the park is a safe space for everyone.
Kennesaw Skatepark has become a hub for the local skateboarding community and has hosted numerous competitions and events since its opening. Its world-class design and free access make it a major draw for skaters throughout the region.
