The La Conner Skatepark, also known as the La Conner Swinomish Skatepark, is a 5,000-square-foot facility located on 6th Street in La Conner, Washington. It was built in 2011 by Grindline Skateparks, a well-known skatepark construction company. The park features a variety of obstacles catering to skaters of all levels, including a bowl shaped like a clamshell, a street course with stairs, rails, and ledges, as well as a smaller flow section with banks and transitions.
The skatepark was a collaborative effort between the Town of La Conner, the Swinomish Tribe, and local community fundraising efforts. It has become a beloved spot in the Pacific Northwest for both locals and visitors, offering a free and accessible space for skateboarders, rollerbladers, and BMX riders. Safety gear is strongly recommended, and the park is open from 8 AM to dusk, though it closes during school hours.
In terms of community involvement, the park has hosted a variety of local events, including the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony that saw a huge turnout with local skaters and seniors alike. This park is an excellent example of community-driven recreation, making it a must-visit destination for skate enthusiasts in the region.
