Lai Chi Kok Park Skatepark, located in Hong Kong, underwent a significant renovation and reopened in November 2019. Originally featuring old metal ramps, the skatepark was remodeled into a modern, international-standard facility. It was redesigned by California Skateparks and built by Hardcore Skateparks, both of which have extensive experience in creating competition-level skateparks. The renovated park covers 1,600 square meters (about 18,500 square feet) and is now a Street League Skateboarding-certified competition skate plaza, making it suitable for hosting international competitions.
This new design includes a diverse array of street-style obstacles like ledges, stairs, rails, and a large bowl suitable for various extreme sports, including skateboarding, aggressive inline skating, freestyle scootering, and BMX. The renovation aimed to not only enhance the park for local use but also provide a professional-level training ground for athletes preparing for global events, including Olympic-level competitions.
Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong, the park is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. Its transformation into a world-class facility reflects Hong Kong’s growing commitment to supporting extreme sports and providing the local community with spaces that foster athletic development.
