215 Harwood Road, Laytonville, California 95454, United States of America
The Laytonville Skatepark in Laytonville, California, was designed and built by Evergreen Skateparks, a renowned skatepark construction company based in Portland, Oregon. The park opened in 2020 after over 20 years of planning and community efforts to bring a skatepark to this small, close-knit community. The park features a distinctive cloverleaf bowl in the center, designed to resemble a 1960s-style swimming pool, complete with marine blue tile and stairs. Surrounding the bowl is a flow section with coping, ledges, and rolling mounds that provide a dynamic skating experience.
The park spans 4,000 square feet and was funded largely through local efforts, bolstered by community fundraising initiatives and contests, such as the Sakrete Concrete Company’s Skatekrete Showdown, in which the park was a finalist. This competition helped raise awareness and additional resources for enhancing the facility. Although the park was relatively small compared to other Evergreen designs, it has been praised for packing a lot of variety and flow into its modest space.
The skatepark serves as an essential recreational hub for Laytonville’s youth, providing not only a space for skating but also a place where community members can gather and support local initiatives. There is ongoing support to expand and further improve the park, with plans for future phases in development.
The little park that could! Volunteer owned and operated. Insane terrain and amazing setting in the beautiful countryside. No bikes, No scooters - The locals will not hesitate to let you know. Peace!
