Marple Skatepark, located in Marple Memorial Park, was built by Canvas and officially opened in April 2017. The skatepark features a concrete structure with an open bowl section and a plaza area containing rails, ledges, and hubbas, offering a versatile space for skaters of all skill levels.
The development of Marple Skatepark was led by the Friends of Marple Memorial Park, who began the project in 2011. The total cost for the park was around £111,750, with funding coming from various sources: Stockport Council contributed £50,000, the community raised £54,213, and Life Leisure provided an additional £11,750 to cover unexpected costs and ensure the project’s completion. The park was created with significant input from local users and the broader community.
