Mona Vale Skatepark, located on Sydney's Northern Beaches, underwent a significant renovation in 2016, making it one of the premier skateparks in the area. The redesign was carried out by Convic, a renowned skatepark design firm, following a collaborative process with the local community, particularly involving young skaters.
The skatepark spans 1,800 square meters and includes a variety of features for all skill levels. These include a refurbished vert ramp, a mini bowl, street-style obstacles like ledges and rails, and a central diamond pyramid. The park's layout allows for smooth transitions and a progression of skills from beginner to advanced riders. Additionally, it was designed to accommodate not only skateboarders but also BMX riders, scooters, and rollerbladers.
The project was funded and supported by the Pittwater Council, and the skatepark officially opened in September 2016. The opening day featured demos by professional skaters, competitions, and various community activities.
