ABOUT SKATEPARK

Albany Flow Park

The New Albany Flow Park is a distinctive skatepark located along the Ohio River waterfront in New Albany, Indiana. This innovative project transformed an underutilized skatepark into a "skate-able" work of art, seamlessly integrating public art with recreational facilities.

The park's design draws inspiration from the Ohio River's rich history, featuring elements like a steamboat and symbols representing local bridges and landscapes. This creative approach was a collaborative effort between the community, the Carnegie Center for Art and History, and Hunger Skateparks, a renowned design and build firm.

The $500,000 renovation project was made possible through partnerships with organizations such as SoIN Tourism, Develop New Albany, the Humana Foundation, the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, the Duke Energy Foundation, the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County, and Samtec Cares. Situated between the Amphitheater and the Sherman Minton Bridge, the park enhances the Ohio River Greenway, providing a unique recreational space for both locals and visitors.
