New Milton Skatepark, located at the War Memorial Recreation Ground in New Milton, Hampshire, was designed and built by Maverick Industries, a prominent skatepark construction company. The park was officially opened in 2014 and quickly became a favorite for local skaters due to its innovative and versatile design.
The skatepark features a mix of street and transition sections, making it suitable for a wide range of skating styles. One of the standout elements is a hipped rectangular bowl with metal coping, providing ample opportunities for both beginners and advanced skaters to practice tricks. The park also includes a rhythm section with quarter pipes, a jump box, and a roll-over, as well as a street section with tiered ledges, a flat bank, and a curved quarter pipe. This variety of features ensures there’s something for everyone, from street skating to bowl riding.
The project was funded by the New Forest District Council, which worked closely with Maverick Industries to ensure the park's design met the needs of the local community. The feedback and input from local skaters were considered throughout the process, resulting in a facility that is both challenging and enjoyable.
The skatepark has become a vital part of the New Milton community, offering a space where riders of all skill levels can come together, hone their abilities, and enjoy the sport in a safe, durable environment.
