Norton Common Skatepark in Letchworth was built by Canvas Spaces and opened in August 2017. It features a wide range of concrete elements, including a clover-shaped bowl, roll-in ramps, half-pipe, grind rails, stairs, and a hip, offering a versatile experience for both beginners and experienced skaters. The skatepark was designed to be accessible to all abilities, with Barcelona-inspired features like banks and ledges.
The renovation of the skatepark was part of a broader regeneration effort led by North Hertfordshire District Council, which aimed to modernize the space. Funding for the park, amounting to £140,000, was partially supported by the TESCO Bags of Help scheme, which also funded introductory BMX sessions to encourage participation, especially among girls.
