ABOUT SKATEPARK

Parque España skatepark

The skatepark at Sarmiento y el río is one of the most iconic and visually striking spots in Rosario, located on the lower terrace of the Parque de España complex (S2000). While the upper levels are famous for the monumental stairs of the Cultural Center, the skatepark area—often called the "Playón del Parque España"—sits directly alongside the Paraná River. It is situated on the riverside promenade (Costanera), between the staircase of the Centro Cultural Parque de España and the tunnel exits.

This is a "Street" style park. Rather than deep bowls, it consists of a wide, flat concrete plaza equipped with a variety of obstacles including quarters, funboxes, rails, and manual pads. Historically, this spot served as the birthplace of the Rosario skate scene long before dedicated parks were built. It was eventually formalized with permanent concrete and metal obstacles to accommodate the high volume of skaters, bikers, and longboarders.

It is a free, public space open 24 hours. Its proximity to the city center and the river makes it an essential stop for any skater visiting Rosario.
