The Peak View Skatepark, located in Laramie, Wyoming, is a modern 12,000-square-foot concrete facility that serves as a high-elevation destination for action sports enthusiasts. This park was designed and built by New Line Skateparks in 2018, replacing an outdated modular park with a permanent, world-class terrain designed to withstand the harsh Wyoming climate. The project was a collaboration between the City of Laramie and local youth advocates, aiming to create a central hub for the city’s thriving skate and BMX community.
The design of Peak View is categorized by its "transition-forward" layout, featuring a large, multi-level flow bowl with rhythmic hips, extensions, and a deep end designed for high-speed lines. This transition zone is seamlessly integrated with a technical street plaza that offers a variety of obstacles, including hubba ledges, flat rails, and a central "A-frame" feature. One of the most distinctive architectural elements of the park is the use of high-contrast colored concrete and custom metalwork, which gives the facility a crisp, modern aesthetic that stands out against the rugged mountain backdrop.
Beyond the riding surface, the park was designed with a heavy focus on community and climate-specific needs. The facility features integrated concrete seating and large boulders that serve as both aesthetic landscape features and functional rest areas for spectators. By utilizing high-strength concrete and specialized drainage systems, the design ensures the park remains durable through heavy snow cycles and rapid temperature changes. Today, Peak View Skatepark is recognized as one of the premier facilities in the state, offering an inclusive and progressive environment for riders of all skill levels to push their boundaries.
