Possum Creek Skatepark, located in Gainesville, Florida, is an 18,000-square-foot concrete skatepark that opened in 2009. It was designed and built by SpohnRanch in collaboration with Pillar Design Studios and Artisan Skateparks. The park's construction was a part of the city's effort to provide modern recreational facilities for its youth, and it has since become one of Florida’s premier skateboarding locations.
The skatepark features a unique triangular layout, with different types of terrain in each of its three corners. It includes a large waterfall bowl that transitions into a variety of street elements such as stair sets, rails, ledges, and manual pads. The park is designed to accommodate all skill levels, offering both street and transition skating.
Possum Creek Skatepark was funded as part of Gainesville’s broader park development efforts, and it is free and open to the public year-round from sunrise to sunset. While the skatepark has not undergone major renovations since its opening, it remains well-maintained and recently had lighting installed in 2023 to extend usability during evening hours.
Overall, Possum Creek Skatepark stands out for its creative design, which blends urban skate elements with the surrounding park landscape, making it a top destination for skaters in the region.
