The Prescott Lee Goodman Skate & Bike Park, located in Mt. Washington, Kentucky, is an 8,000-square-foot skatepark that was completed in 2016. The park is named in honor of Prescott Lee Goodman, a talented local BMX rider whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 15. His mother, Chrystal O’Bryan, led the effort to memorialize her son through the creation of this skatepark. She founded the Bikes with Wings Foundation, which raised the necessary funds for the project in partnership with the City of Mt. Washington.
Designed and built by SpohnRanch, the skatepark features a mix of BMX and skateboarding elements, including a bowl with varying depths, quarter pipes, rails, ledges, a spine ramp, and more. The design caters to both beginners and advanced riders, offering a space for progression and enjoyment. The park is well-lit for evening use, making it a safe and accessible environment for the local community.
The project was made possible through extensive fundraising efforts, including donations from local supporters and businesses. It stands as a testament to the strength and unity of the Mt. Washington community, offering a place where young riders can hone their skills while honoring Prescott's memory.
This skatepark is now a key feature of Mt. Washington, providing a lasting legacy for Prescott and a vibrant recreational space for the town’s youth.
