The Presidente Derqui Skatepark, located in the Pilar district, is a significant recreational landmark for the local community. Situated at Vicecomodoro H. Meisner and O'Higgins, it was the first public space of its kind in the municipality, designed specifically to foster social inclusion through urban sports.
The Presidente Derqui Skatepark is a solid concrete facility integrated into a larger municipal sports complex. Spanning approximately 750 square meters, the park serves as a central meeting point for the "Asociación de Skaters de Derqui" and local youth. Its construction was part of a broader project to revitalize the area, providing a dedicated space for skateboarding, BMX, and rollerblading in a safe, community-focused environment.
The centerpiece is a well-sized concrete bowl. It features smooth transitions and standard coping, providing a great space for transition skaters to practice carves, stalls, and airs. Surrounding the bowl area are various street-inspired obstacles, including quarter pipes, banks, and ledges.
The park is equipped with public floodlights, allowing for evening sessions—a major plus for local riders during the summer months.
