ABOUT SKATEPARK

Radtke skatepark

Radtke Skatepark, located in West Allis, Wisconsin, opened in 2015 and was designed and built by SpohnRanch, a leading skatepark design firm. This 9,000-square-foot skatepark offers a variety of obstacles and terrain for skaters of all levels. The design incorporates unique elements like a large metal gear, salvaged and repurposed from the city's industrial heritage, as a skateable centerpiece. Other features include quarter pipes, bank ramps, hubba ledges, stairs, rails, and a volcano planter, creating a dynamic and versatile space.

The skatepark's location in Joyce Radtke Park was selected after an in-depth site analysis, considering environmental impacts and accessibility. The design aimed to blend with the park's natural topography, utilizing the existing landscape for a more eco-friendly approach. The park was funded as part of the city’s initiative to enhance public spaces, with an estimated budget of $300,000.

Radtke Skatepark is now a central hub for the local skateboarding community, offering a smooth flow between street and transition elements, along with an aesthetic that nods to the area's industrial past.
